Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting YouthBuild Boston Design students for a project tour at Cactus Club Cafe, led by Joseph Vecchione, AIA from Bergmeyer | B Corp™. With graduation just days away, this visit gave students a firsthand look at how thoughtful design translates into the built environment. Project Manager Ames Sheriff gave the group a behind-the-scenes look at how OpenSpace was a key tool in getting the mechanical systems right—especially important for a complex site like this one, which sits above a parking garage and below an active tenant space. The students came prepared with thoughtful questions and sharp observations—including one who noted the “great energy” between CM&B and the Bergmeyer. That synergy reflects more than just project success—it’s a reflection of our People.Building. philosophy in action. Our Suffolk Estero team has successfully delivered the Riverdale High School project in Fort Myers ahead of schedule and under budget for our longtime partner, the School District of Lee County. Working on an active campus, the team delivered a state-of-the-art expansion and renovation that added new science and gymnasium buildings, updated classrooms, a clinic, staff offices, kitchen and cafeteria, plus redesigned pathways and parking — all with minimal disruption to students and staff. Key technology tools including Clearstory, OpenSpace, and Voyage Control helped streamline operations, track progress, and coordinate deliveries, ensuring a smooth process from start to finish. The team also went beyond the build by hosting high school seniors for project tours through the Junior Achievement program, inspiring future careers in the skilled trades. Thank you to our project partners for delivering an exceptional result and leaving a lasting impact on the Riverdale High School community.
