  • Earlier this month, our Corrections staff attended the Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Banquet, hosted by Aspire Health Partners and sponsored by NAMI Greater Orlando. CIT is a program that teaches employees how to respond to individuals with mental health crises or other behavioral health conditions. The goal of this training is to help develop the skills and knowledge to effectively respond to mental health conditions. In addition to our Corrections Department being recognized for its commitment to CIT training, two staff members were also recognized. Senior Community Corrections Officer Vega was honored as the 2024 Orange County Corrections CIT Officer of the Year and Correctional Officer Rivera was honored as a 2024 CIT Role Player of the Year. Thank you for your dedication to such an important cause, and for making a difference in our community each day!
