Did you know that Patterson’s footprint, or rather pawprint in this instance, extends overseas? Through our acquisition of National Veterinary Services in August of 2013, we officially expanded into Europe. Located in Stoke-on-Trent in the United Kingdom, National Veterinary Services is now “NVS Group,” to better represent the array of products and services offered. More than 700 employees make NVS Group the U.K.’s leader for veterinary wholesale, consumables, software and laboratory services!
For the past several months, 11 interns have brought their energy and interest in learning to all aspects of our company, where they have gained hands-on experience in their departments, while advancing their own skillsets. From content creation to sourcing to internal audit, our interns had the opportunity to see how all of the aspects of our business work together to better serve our customers, employees and communities. Katelyn Lambert, senior talent acquisition specialist, had the chance to work directly with the interns throughout the summer, and saw firsthand how much they were able to learn from Patterson, and how the organization was able to benefit from their hard work. “This year’s intern program has been exceptional. We welcomed a group of bright, motivated young adults who brought fresh perspectives, strong work ethic, and a genuine enthusiasm for learning.” Thank you again to all of our interns, and we look forward to seeing where you go next in your careers!

Following a successful North American Sales Meeting earlier this summer, our dental territory representatives from across the nation came together at the picturesque Rio Secco Golf Club in Nevada, to play golf and give back to the #PattersonFoundation’s grantmaking programs. Thanks to the leadership of Atlanta-based territory rep Zach Babbitt, who organized this event and is part of the Patterson Foundation’s fundraising committee, our golfers raised over $6,300 in support of the Foundation! Talk about golfing “FORE!” a good cause… 😊
Have you heard of Patterson’s National Repair Center? It’s a unique service we offer, where customers mail us handpieces and small equipment in need of repair, and our team of factory-trained technicians restore the items. According to Marya Lessard, National Repair Center Manager, we created this offering in order to be a truly indispensable partner to our customers. “We don’t want them to have to send four different handpieces to four different manufacturers. Not only does this help them save money, but we’re very thorough - we clean everything and bring it back to like-new condition.” The repair center team is comprised of two main roles: Coordinators, who work directly with customers over phone, email, and fax, and technicians, who handle the repairs. It’s safe to say these folks are busy, as we see about 200 items come through each day! Thank you, National Repair Center teams, for providing truly stand-out service! #WeArePatterson
This coming Sunday, August 17 highlights National Nonprofit Day. Ahead of this observance, we’d like to celebrate the incredible impact nonprofits make in our communities! At Patterson, giving back is part of who we are. That’s why every team member receives Volunteer Time Off to support causes meaningful to them. Last year, more than 750 Patterson employees rolled up their sleeves for 540 nonprofits across the United States and Canada. Through our Dollars for Doers program, the #PattersonFoundation matched that passion with $54,900 in donations — multiplying the impact of Patterson employees’ generosity. You could say yesterday was a “ruff” day at the office… The patio at our Minnesota headquarters building became a PAW-tio, as our employees were joined by adoptable puppies from Safe Hands Rescue, a non-profit animal rescue organization based out of the Twin Cities. In addition to feeling warm and fuzzy from puppy snuggles, our teams are experiencing longer-lasting warm fuzzies, because the #PattersonFoundation supported this activity with a donation to Safe Hands Rescue of $1,000, through our Dollars for Doers program. Lead talent acquisition specialist Kristina Paterson, who helped spearhead this event, shared that as a rescue dog owner herself, she holds a special place in her heart for foster-based rescue organizations. “I am appreciative that Patterson was open to welcoming Safe Hands dogs on-site and further supporting their mission through an impactful donation!”
