About us
We see a day when all dogs are safe, secure, cared for, fed well, and loved. PEDIGREE Foundation is working to find a solution to the problem of the millions of homeless dogs in this country. Through our grant programs, we support organizations that save the lives of dogs that would otherwise be lost. The Foundation was established in 2008 by dog lovers with a passionate belief that every dog deserves a loving home. PEDIGREE Foundation is a 501(c)(3) private foundation that supports shelters and rescue organizations, as well as encouraging people to ADOPT, VOLUNTEER, and DONATE. We’re proud to have awarded almost 5,000 grants to caring, committed shelters and rescue organizations since 2008. Visit our website to learn more about our grant program and the success stories that have come from it!

How many of you have said or heard someone say the following about why they cannot start or grow their pet foster program? 1. We can't find fosters. 2. No one wants to foster big dogs. 3. We don’t have enough staff to run a foster program. 4. We can’t send dogs to foster because of liability. 5. We don’t have the medical support or vet staff to run a foster program. 6. We can’t get pets adopted from foster. 7. We need to have orientation/background checks/training before people can foster. 8. People won’t bring them back for spay or neuter. Join April Huntsman, CAWA and me THIS THURSDAY at 11 am PST/2 pm EST for the third and final 2025 Dogs & Data session, "Foster Facts vs. Fiction." Hosted by PEDIGREE Foundation and Adopt-a-Pet.com, this webinar is all about helping shelter and rescue folks assess their program, learn the facts, and make plans to overcome some of the biggest foster myths holding their programs back! In honor of National Adopt-a-Shelter-Dog-Month, here is a quick fact: 5.9MM dogs entered shelters and rescues in 2024, and only 4.1MM were adopted (according to Shelter Animal Count's 2024 Annual Adoption Report). PEDIGREE Foundation is committed to closing that gap by funding programs that increase adoption rates, support shelters and rescues, and help more dogs find loving homes. Every dog deserves love, safety and a family to call their own - and together, we can make that possible. Want to get involved? Here’s how you can help: · Adopt – Consider opening your heart and home to a shelter dog. · Foster – Short-term fostering creates space in shelters and gives dogs a better chance at adoption. · Donate – Contributions fuel grants and programs that directly impact adoption efforts nationwide. · Advocate – Share the message and inspire others to choose adoption. This month and every month, let’s work together to ensure fewer dogs are waiting and more tails are wagging. 🐾💛
