PJM serves all or parts of Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia and the District of Columbia. An independent board oversees PJM’s activities. • PJM has been recognized by EPRI with the 2025 Technology Transfer Award. This distinguished honor recognizes PJM’s exceptional work on the Global Innovation Effectiveness (GIE) Innovation Maturity Assessment. This distinction has made PJM the first RTO/ISO in North America to complete EPRI’s GIE Innovation Maturity Assessment and highlights PJM’s leadership, insight and commitment to advancing innovation across the energy sector. The initiative was led by Earl Lynch, Executive Director, Client Services – Corporate Client Services; Nikki Militello, Manager – Interconnection Projects; and Scott Baker, Sr. Lead Business Solution Analyst – Applied Innovation. This effort included participation from across the organization – including 24 executive interviews, eight focus group participants and a notable 65% participation response rate for the innovation evaluation survey provided to the management team. The findings will be integrated into the upcoming five-year strategy refresh and strengthen our organizational readiness for the rapid changes occurring across the energy landscape. The Technology Transfer Award is one of EPRI’s premier honors for spotlighting achievement that helps shape the future of reliable, affordable and sustainable energy. Congratulations to everyone involved in this important milestone.

  • PJM practiced its ability to respond to a system-wide crisis in the recent GridEx exercise, a two-day simulation of emergency events involving grid operators from throughout North America. The international grid security drill is directed by the Electricity Information Sharing and Analysis Center (E-ISAC). E-ISAC, as part of the North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), is the electricity industry’s primary communications and control channel and works to refine and enhance preparation for and response to threats to the bulk electric system. PJM appreciates the opportunity to provide perspective in these important conversations and remains focused on ensuring reliability for the 67 million people it serves across 13 states and Washington, D.C.
