“In a word, magic.” After trying several other AI timekeeping solutions, that’s how Kaitlyn O'Connor at Elevare Law describes PointOne. Her team captured roughly 15% more billable time in the first month alone. By automatically recording work in real time and generating clear, accurate narratives, PointOne simultaneously cut down on daily admin work and caught time that had been slipping through the cracks. For Elevare Law, using PointOne is not just a strategic investment—it’s a future of legal practice powered by thoughtful, high-quality AI.

Happy 2nd birthday to PointOne. Since starting 2 years ago, we’ve: - Built the most advanced timekeeper and the most advanced OCG compliance product. - Onboarded 100+ law firms. - Attracted some of the best investors in the world (YC, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, and General Catalyst, to name a few). - Outgrown 2 offices (soon to be 3) and are actively on the hunt for number 4. - Hired team members we could only have dreamed of when we started. Every firm we’ve won has been a proof point for what we’ve built. Most of our deals have been won against competitors, almost all of which were founded before us. Thanks to our customers, our team has doubled in the past year, and we’re still rapidly expanding our engineering, sales, and customer success functions to meet customer demand. Reach out if you share our vision and have the skillset to match.

It has been just under three years since generative AI entered the mainstream of the legal sector. This week, I moderated a panel with Kate Orr, Managing Director of Practice Innovation at Orrick, Eddie Nasser, Founding Member at Crosby, Johanna Hatzell, Director of the Digital Studio at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, and Bryon Bratcher, Managing Director at Gravity Stack. The discussion was driven almost entirely by audience questions. We discussed the progress over the last few years: intrigue -> experimentation -> transformation. A few highlights: 1/ We’re past the hype phase. Neither clients nor law firms are asking "What is this?" They are asking, "How else can I use this?" 2/ The impact is real, but measurement has to be specific to the use case. On the business of law side, we focus on hard metrics and primarily on increasing revenue. The practice of law tools face more challenges when it comes to measurement, but that doesn't mean the impact isn't there. 3/ Adoption still requires a human in the loop. The most effective enablement is 1:1 in the moment someone wants to get something done. Scalable or not, humans are currently the interface to AI tools.

Come build with Antoine! We're hiring.
One year at PointOne. A year of building fast and proving what a small, all-in team can deliver. The expectations remain super high: real ownership (and equity to prove it), A+ engineering, and teammates who operate like pros. And I am pushing hard! There’s real opportunity here for the right people. We’re bringing on another software engineer légendaire. If you want to join us(or know someone who does) when the trajectory is steep and the impact is real, reach out.

It was great chatting about KPIs and ROI in legal tech with Toby Franklin from Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, John B. Koss from Mintz, Kathryn Colson from Foley Hoag LLP, and Justin Hummel from BARBRI A couple of interesting notes that came up: - Custom codes are crucial for a granular understanding of matter composition - The future is a seamless interface for law firm leaders that abstracts away underlying data and data infrastructure

Congrats to Billy on Y1! We're expanding the engineering team to meet demand. Link to careers page below.
This week marks one year since I joined PointOne. Back then, I didn’t know much about the legal industry and knew even less about legal timekeeping. But I did feel strongly that I was joining an incredible team at a pivotal time. Over the past year that feeling has been solidified every single day. I’ve taken on projects that I never could have imagined before I started, and I’ve been around to experience the company transition from pre-PMF to serving over 100 firms worldwide. It’s hard to imagine a steeper career trajectory than the one I’ve had here. We’re now doubling our team size to match growth, and with that will come entirely new engineering functions. If you want too much responsibility and to work on projects that people genuinely rely on all the time, let’s talk.
