Radiance University marked the start of 2026 with their first Software Engineering Community of Interest session, led by Principal Engineers Nick Longinow, Associate Technical Fellow, and Chris Mooney, Technical Fellow.   The kickoff focused on a challenge many teams face: evolving a codebase to support expanding features without slowing delivery or introducing unnecessary risk.    We look forward to building on this momentum throughout the year as the Software Engineering COI continues!

This month, we are excited to celebrate employee-owner Scott Hill’s 15-year work anniversary at Radiance! Scott is a software engineer at Stennis Space Center and has been an integral part of Radiance for over a decade. Since joining Radiance, Scott has seen the company grow while still maintaining what he values most, a personal, small company feel and a shared passion for excellence across teams and offices. Over the years, Scott’s role has expanded beyond development. He has embraced mentoring junior developers and often finds that the learning goes both ways, gaining just as much from the experience as those he mentors. His advice to those just starting their careers? "Software development is undergoing a pivotal change right now. But this has always been true. Embrace the change. Be eager to learn new skills and technologies. Have fun!" Thank you, Scott, for 15 years of dedication, mentorship, and impact.

Meet Shelby, one of our newest employee-owners based in Huntsville, AL! Shelby joins Radiance as an Operations Specialist and brings nearly five years of experience as an Intelligence Analyst and Team Lead, supporting government agencies on a national security program. Prior to that, she worked at Google as a Graphic Violence Content Analyst, where she investigated complex, policy-driven content on YouTube, conducted cultural research, and led team initiatives to improve consistency. When asked why she is excited to work for Radiance, Shelby shared, “I am excited to work at Radiance Technologies because of its mission-focused approach to solving complex national security and defense challenges through innovation and technical excellence.” Outside of work, Shelby enjoys hiking, volunteering, and spending time with Romeo, her dog.
