    Early customers do two things: they believe in a future you can half-see, and they bet on your ability to build it. Barry Mathis is one of those rare, forward-thinking individuals. We met at a NARPM Sacramento regional event. The room was focused on the latest tenant-landlord regulation. Barry raised his hand and asked, “how are we going to use AI to improve our business?” Over the last few months Barry gave us the time, context, and access to iterate. With Barry as an early customer, we built Mason, an AI agent for property management. Today Mason talks to tenants, owners, and vendors to coordinate complex maintenance requests across single-family homes in California. He handles the messy edge cases that make automation actually useful. If you’re building something new, look for the people who ask the right questions and take intelligent risks.
