I'm a huge believer in sponsoring young people, no matter their income class or circumstance, to participate in programs like Head Start, Inc. During a recent trip to India, I visited a group of kids sponsored by Relevantz, who support them so that they can have an education and a future. I was so inspired by these kids (most of whom are going to become stellar engineers) and the good that private companies like Relevantz can do to make a difference in these young kids' lives. This week, we pause to say thank you to those you courageously fought to defend our freedoms, and those who continue to serve. This Veterans Day had me reflecting on my dad, who served during World War 2 in the China Burma India Campaign. He and his five brothers all went into the military to fight for our country, and thankfully, all returned home! I'm grateful that Veterans Day is recognized each year so we can celebrate the men and women who fight for and represent us. Circumstances may shape you, but they don't have to limit you. At a wrestling hall of fame event I attended recently here in Georgia, I saw many of the sport's greatest icons, but the person in the room who inspired me most was Kyle Maynard. Kyle has a rare condition known as congenital amputation, where he only has partial limbs. His condition never stopped him from competing or from following his dreams, ranking 12th in the state of Georgia in wrestling—remarkable! Kyle has gone on to do many great things: ✅ First quadruple amputee to climb Mount Kilimanjaro without prosthetics ✅Acclaimed author ✅Keynote speaker ✅Entrepreneur The list goes on. For over three decades, Women in Technology (WIT) has stuck to its mission, advancing women and the GA tech community. This was on full display last Thursday at the 25th annual WIT Awards, a beautiful gala held at the Georgia Aquarium, where we paid tribute to the incredible women who are breaking barriers and marking the path forward. I was not only truly inspired by these tremendous leaders but also grateful for the opportunity to be in the same room as these women.
