🎓 Redesigning the College Experience To Meet Changing Needs Male enrollment in higher education is dropping, and the implications reach far beyond the classroom. Since 2011, the number of male college students has declined by nearly 1 million. This is an enrollment issue...signaling unmet needs, misaligned values, and more profound societal shifts. 🛠️ We think this is our time to rethink the educational system with tailored programs and fresh approaches to mentorship and engagement. 📘 Explore our perspective, and let's step up to the challenge to design a future with clear, compelling pathways for today's students. • The career ladder is getting a redesign. We’re seeing a seismic shift in what leadership and work across generations look like today. 👩💼 Seasoned professionals are re-entering the workforce on their own terms as consultants, founders, and fractional execs. The "silver economy" is booming, not fading. Their experience fuels innovation and serves as an invaluable resource for mentoring next-gen talent. 📉 Gen Z? They're rewriting the leadership playbook. Prioritizing flexibility, autonomy, and mental health over hierarchy, they're steering away from traditional leadership tracks. It's not a lack of ambition but a new form of conscious leadership. 📈 And the numbers don’t lie: Mentions of fractional C-suite roles jumped from 2K to 110K in just two years. Agile leadership is becoming the blueprint. At Rêve, we see these shifts as more than workforce trends. They’re design signals and they’re shaping the future of organizations. ➡️ How is your organization adapting to this new era of leadership? #FutureOfWork #LeadershipDesign #HumanCenteredStrategy #FractionalLeadership #GenZ

  • 🎓 College Enrollment Is Dropping. What Does That Mean for Your Workforce? The number of students enrolling in U.S. colleges is shrinking rapidly. One of the main drivers is a demographic dip that is expected to intensify through 2025–2030, with a projected 15% decline in college-age populations over the next 15 years. Declining enrollments are also exacerbated by potential students asking tougher questions about degree value, affordability, and whether college is truly the best path forward. This shift doesn’t mean a future without skilled workers. However, it does mean that employers will need to rethink how they define, identify, and develop their future team members. You may not work in higher education, but your hiring strategy still depends on it. Most organizations still rely on degrees to signal readiness. When fewer students pursue that path, the traditional pipeline shrinks even if capable talent exists elsewhere. So, what can you do? ✔️ Broaden how you define “qualified.” Rethink job descriptions and degree requirements; skills-based hiring opens new doors to talent. ✔️ Invest in alternative pathways. Launch apprenticeships, certificates, and on-the-job training programs. ✔️ Build partnerships with educators. Help shape learning that reflects real-world needs, especially in your industry or region. ✔️ Support equitable access to education. Fund scholarships, paid internships, and simplified hiring processes go a long way. If you're a leader wondering how to help shape the future workforce, now’s the time to get involved! #HigherEd #EnrollmentCliff #HumanCenteredDesign #FutureOfLearning #ReveConsulting

  • 🚀 Designing the Future of Higher Education Our team has been heads-down in one of our favorite kinds of work: co-creating strategy with visionary partners. Over the past few months, we’ve had the privilege of partnering with a higher education client to shape a future-focused strategy that unifies the student experience and academic ecosystem across two distinct institutions. In this short case study, explore how we helped align around shared goals while preserving the unique strengths of each university, supporting both cohesion and individuality in service of long-term transformation. 🎓 Strategy that honors identity. 🤝 Collaboration that drives clarity. 📈 Innovation that positions our client for sustainable impact. Stay tuned for more insights into how we design educational experiences that students love — and institutions can grow with. • 💭 Can AI be a good research moderator? We ran an internal research study to find out. At Rêve, we experiment. So we built a semi-synthetic moderator, an AI trained on our research logic, and used it to guide internal participant conversations in a recent survey. Our goals: can AI unlock richer insights? And would people feel comfortable sharing personal details with a bot? The short answer: yes, with caveats. 🔍 What we learned: - Participants opened up more than we expected, especially internal processors who valued the slower, judgment-free pace. - Many called the prompts “smart” and “reflective,” saying they helped uncover thoughts they didn’t expect to share. - 65% of participants said they would participate again. The others suggested that AI moderator would benefit from tweaks, including shorter survey length, clearer pacing, and a more empathetic tone. When AI follow-up questions were used sparingly, they added depth. Overused, they became tiring. So, moderation quality matters even when the moderator isn’t human. Why this matters for our clients: Synthetic moderators fill the gap between surveys and interviews. They: - Prompt deeper thinking with logic-driven follow-ups. - Rephrase for clarity and cultural relevance. - Scale fast—no scheduling needed. - Offer reflection time for those who process slowly or prefer written input. - One participant called it “a step above a typical survey.” We think that’s a win. However, we’re not ready to go all in yet. There are real usability and ethical concerns: - Participants want transparency (and exit options). - The AI can feel impersonal if not carefully designed. - Clients need data privacy, script fidelity, and branding options. The future of research? Augmented, not automated. We see synthetic agents as powerful supplements to human researchers. They scale reflection, increase access, and reduce friction, especially for sensitive topics or hard-to-reach audiences. They're not a replacement. However, with the right design, they might be the next frontier of human-centered research. #AIModeration #HumanCenteredResearch #SyntheticModerators #EthicalAI #AugmentedResearch
