Egypt's remarkable achievement as the first country worldwide to receive Gold Tier status from the WHO for its hepatitis C elimination efforts is a shining example of what dedicated public-private partnerships can accomplish. As Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health, emphasized, Egypt transitioned from having the highest rates of Hepatitis C to becoming a global leader in its elimination – a truly inspiring journey. The discussions throughout the day proved that our partnership goes beyond traditional collaborations, focusing on deep strategic alignment to strengthen the entire healthcare ecosystem and a shared vision built on mutual goals. Various examples were discussed, including initiatives like the strategic drug localization project with Gypto Pharma, which is not just about manufacturing. It's about enabling Egypt's healthcare system, fostering human development, and building national capabilities to produce life-saving treatments, including complex biologics for conditions like liver cancer. This exemplifies how private sector innovation, combined with public health vision, creates sustainable impact and advances human well-being and create sustainable impact.
