The Sacramento Kings are proud to kick off this season’s Tip-Off Tastes presented by Delta Dental, a program dedicated to showcasing Sacramento’s diverse, small, and locally owned restaurants by bringing their stories, flavors, and cultures to life inside Golden 1 Center. In honor of Native American Heritage Month, we were excited to welcome Séka Hills, a Native American-owned restaurant, for a special one-night kitchen takeover. Their farm-to-fork experience, deeply rooted in the heritage of the Yocha Dehe Wintun Nation, reflects a powerful commitment to stewardship, sustainability, and community. This collaboration not only gave fans the chance to enjoy their signature dishes, but also created space to uplift Indigenous-owned agriculture and amplify cultural storytelling in a meaningful way. We are grateful to partner with Delta Dental as we continue spotlighting the unique stories, flavors, and traditions behind each featured restaurant throughout the season, deepening our connection to the communities we serve.

About us
In 1985, the NBA’s Sacramento Kings moved to California’s capital city, changing the region permanently. Today, the Kings continue their mission to profoundly impact the Sacramento region on- and off-the-court. When technologist and entrepreneur Vivek Ranadivé purchased the team in 2013, he committed to building a world-class arena in Sacramento. Golden 1 Center – opened in 2016 – is now recognized as the world’s most technologically advanced and sustainable arena in the world. Through Golden 1 Center and a $1 billion investment in the community, Sacramento is seeing dynamic economic growth, a revitalization in the downtown, and newfound energy shaping the next great American city. Recently, the organization has been recognized as Fast Company’s “Most Innovative Company in Sports,” owners of Sports Business Journal’s “Facility of the Year,” and leaders in sustainability by the Natural Resource Defense Council, Green Sports Alliance and the Huffington Post.

On October 18, we proudly hosted the 11th Annual Playbook Summit presented by Raley's, bringing together more than 200 nonprofit leaders from across the region for a day dedicated to connection, empowerment, and learning. Each year, the Summit equips attendees with new “plays” to strengthen their organizations and drive sustainable impact. This year, we were inspired by incredible leaders and partners from across our community and organization. Representation from the Stockton Kings, Sacramento River Cats, and Athletics offered valuable perspectives on collaborating with regional sports teams. In addition, Raley's shared insights on community engagement through their grants and giving programs, while Kiera Anderson from Pro Youth and Families guided attendees through the NBA Foundation grant process. Senior leaders from our Content, Public Relations, and Human Resources teams provided strategies for effective organizational structure, media engagement, and social presence. The day concluded with Dr. Christine Coleman, who shared insights on Leading with Clarity, Compassion, and Purpose, emphasizing how nonprofit leaders can align strategy with emotional well-being to better serve their communities. We’re grateful to all who joined us for another impactful year of learning and collaboration! 💜
