Hoover Middle School’s Holiday Lights 2025 was pure magic! Hoover’s campus was transformed into a glowing winter wonderland, complete with a mesmerizing “enchanted hallway” featuring student-created art displays. Families snapped photos at the festive photo booth, warmed up with hot chocolate, and enjoyed the joyful holiday atmosphere all evening long. The celebration kicked off with the beloved tree lighting ceremony, followed by an incredible performing arts showcase—spotlighting drama, mariachi, jazz, orchestra, choir, and dance. Thank you to our students, staff, families, and community for making this year’s Holiday Lights celebration brighter than ever!

Our students and families suited up for an evening of reading power at Rachel Carson Elementary’s Superhero Literacy Night. From interactive reading and writing games to hands-on literacy activities, our young scholars explored new ways to build skills and spark a lifelong love of reading. Families also enjoyed a special story time with a local hero from the San José Fire Department and received helpful resources from the San José Public Library. Thank you to our community partners and all the superheroes who made this night unforgettable!

New TK–5 families interested in enrolling are required to attend an orientation session, while families with siblings already in the program can contact their school for sibling orientation details. Willow Glen Elementary is shining bright this season! The Tiger Cares program, in partnership with Student Council, wrapped up one of their most meaningful traditions — the annual Canned Food Drive. Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Willow Glen community, we were able to provide five full bags of food to each of the 33 families in need. Thank you, Willow Glen Tigers, for making a real difference!

We celebrated the NWSL Championship in style with over 140 girls from our after-school programs, who had the incredible opportunity to learn from professional women soccer players! This inspiring event was made possible thanks to our partners, including Women's Sports Foundation, Black Women's Player Collective, America SCORES Bay Area, Telemundo 48, City of San José, Catholic Charities of Santa Clara County, National Women's Soccer League, and BAWSI. The WSF Athlete Ambassador Program, brings professional women athletes to youth organizations to inspire and empower the next generation of female leaders through sports. From soccer skills clinics to powerful panel discussions, this event was all about teaching the values of health, leadership, and perseverance. Here’s to more girls getting the chance to play, lead, and shine!
