Today, we are excited to showcase Kevin Kraft, Network Engineer at SMX. Kevin joined SMX in May 2023, after retiring from the military and looking for a civilian career that would leverage his security clearance and technical expertise. Kevin shared: “At the time I was looking for work that required a Security Clearance. In my job search I saw the Network Engineer position and thought it would be perfect for a first civilian job after a military retirement. The last two years with SMX has been an absolute joy, I love my job!” Since joining, Kevin has seen first-hand what makes SMX unique: “What stands out to me the most is that while working for SMX I have had the privilege to work for some of the best leaders I have ever seen-A. #SMX successfully supported the XVIII Airborne Corps’ Scarlet Dragon exercise this month through our SMX Elevate ISRSM and SMX Elevate NetEdgeSM platforms. Elevate ISR delivered advanced commercial analytics, including GXP Fusion data, imagery, and other commercial intelligence objects. NetEdge provided the commercial transport layer for drone and field based FMV, targeting information, maritime sensors, edge-based IoT (Sun Global SuperWifi), and compute capabilities directly from the edge to the command post. In coordination with Amazon Web Services (AWS), SMX moved FMV, sensor, targeting, and other commercial data from the edge to Secret for further analysis and action.    SMX was central to driving real-time, data-informed decisions across the mission space, accelerating the #TCPED cycle and enhancing operational effectiveness at the edge.
