For the 3rd year in a row, our Emerging Leaders Employee Resource Group (ERG) partnered with The Arc of Atlantic County & The Arc of Union County for two impactful events centered around education and fun! In Atlantic County, Emerging Leaders partnered with our training center team and invited the Arc of Atlantic County to tour our Waterford Training Center to learn about the work we do at SJI. The team also shared summer sun safety tips while crafting personalized sun visors as a group and learning more about the Arc members. In Union County, Emerging Leaders presented on what we do at SJI and the history and everyday uses of natural gas. The team also facilitated discussions on workforce development and shared tips on job searching and interviewing. A special thank you to all our employee volunteers who participated in the events! At SJI, our ERGs are vital, volunteer-led employee groups that significantly enhance employee engagement and promote an inclusive, collaborative workplace. These groups are open to all employees.

Yesterday, SJI’s Employee Resource Group, HOLA (Hispanic Organization for Latino Achievement) proudly volunteered at the St. Joseph Social Service Center’s 12th Annual “Hunger Doesn’t Take a Vacation” Sandwich Drive. Elizabethtown Gas was a sponsor of the event, which is held every summer in partnership with Assemblywoman Annette Quijano to help those facing food insecurity and homelessness. Since 1983, St. Joseph's has served Greater Elizabeth, New Jersey, by providing basic human needs such as food, clothing and medications, as well as a wide range of services and programs. Volunteers assembled over 1,000 sandwiches and also received a tour of the food pantry. A special thank you to all employees who volunteered to make the day such a success! Graduating high school seniors in New Jersey and Maine now have exciting opportunities to jumpstart their careers in the growing energy efficiency workforce.
