Spear AI reposted this
John McGunnigle and I were proud to represent Spear AI at the inaugural Versus Symposium hosted by Anno.Ai this past week in North Dakota. We heard from UAS and C-UAS innovators worldwide, watching live demonstrations of their technology. We understand the necessity of having test and training ranges to develop UAS and C-UAS solutions.

This week, you won't find me at the @AFCEA #TechNetAugusta, GA, or preparing to travel to #DAFITC in Montgomery, AL next week. While I'm disappointed to miss catching up with friends and making new connections at either of these fabulous events, North Dakota is the only place for me. I'm at the 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐔𝐀𝐒/𝐂-𝐔𝐀𝐒 𝐅𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐓𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦 & 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐨𝐧, 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐥'𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞, 𝐍𝐃, because this first-of-its-kind event brings together many of my areas of expertise and interests. As a former military leader integrating early drones, developing innovative mission applications, advocating for #cybersecurity in command and video datalinks, and recently, studying #autonomy policies and encouraging best #governance practices for the industry producing the next generation of these capabilities…and defending against them, I had to be here. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐕𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐮𝐬? 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬: Collaborate to align strategy. Need more reasons? See this recovered Russian 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐡𝐞𝐞𝐝-𝟏𝟑𝟔 𝐝𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐞 from the battlefield. The Shaheed-136, also known as the Russian Geran-2, is a lethal and inexpensive "kamikaze" drone, launched in multiples, using a rocket assist before a small piston engine takes over. With a 50kg warhead, it strikes ground targets from a distance. Its low cost ($20,000-$50,000 each) and simple design allow Russia to produce and use them in large numbers intended to overwhelm and saturate Ukraine's air defenses. These nightly drone waves place stress on defensive systems and have a devastating compound effect, as they are military threats and also terrorize civilians. The Shaheed drones are also used against Israel. Being here, studying recovered assets and collaborating with experts is important to us. We’re advocating for test and training ranges to develop innovative, cost-effective, and scalable UAS and counter-UAS solutions to stop these relentless and lethal drones. I’m confident the combination of ingenuity and the right infrastructure will save lives. Can you help?
