The SNCares school supply drive was a success! We delivered all the donations to the new Communities In Schools of Greater Tarrant County location — a beautiful new facility that will house two dedicated closets for school supplies and uniforms, a food pantry for families who may struggle with food insecurity, therapy spaces, and even laundry facilities for families who need a place to clean their students’ clothes. CIS's mission is to surround students with a community of support, empowering them to stay in school and achieve in life, and this new center will be a fantastic resource for students and families in our community. Several members of our SNCares charitable committee recently had the privilege of visiting our regional Canine Companions® training center to see how these service dogs are conditioned for their important work, from learning commands to getting ready to partner with adults, children, and veterans with disabilities. It was a fascinating look at the extensive care and thoughtful design of their facilities, which include everything from specialized training rooms to on-site veterinary care. A big thank you to the Lone Star Chapter of Canine Companions for the behind-the-scenes tour. Our 3rd annual water drive was our best yet! Our generous SNC team donated more cases of water than ever before, and the Bedford Fire Department was there to pick them up and share their thanks.
