Congratulations are in order for our Managing Director, Brian Sawyer, PE, PSAP, who has recently completed his PE in Mechanical Engineering! This is a major accomplishment that was a long-time coming for Brian, and one which will help Sunair Co. continue provide our customers with best-in-class fluid handling solutions in the years ahead.
I recently passed the PE exam in Mechanical Engineering: Thermo and Fluids. With 31 years in industry, and 20+ years removed from earning my EIT, I've spent the last 6 months studying and preparing. This was a long-held bucket list accomplishment that wouldn't have been possible without the encouragement and ongoing support of my partner-in-life, Tina, to finally take the plunge and commit. I'm also thankful to our kids and family, my friends and colleagues, and my team at Sunair Co. who encouraged me and made it possible. It was gratifying to confirm for myself that at this stage of my life, the capacity remains for deep knowledge gain, even though my gray matter turns grayer and less absorbent with each passing year. And although I'm celebrating reclaiming some weekend leisure time for the first time in months, my inner nerd is thinking of what might be next. Credit to Dr. Tom's Classroom, LLC, for the outstanding on-demand prep course. Gratitude to Vistage Worldwide, Inc. for the peer feedback and growth format it provides and to my group's chair, Joe Shott, for last summer broaching the topic of life planning, which first set my wheels turning to finally check this off my to-do list, and to Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses and Philadelphia Cohort 25 (!) for setting me on my current growth path.
