In 1964, it was dedicated as a Cunard Line terminal and handled luxury liners alongside its sister piers well into the 1970s. The pier was repurposed in the 1980s as the “UnConvention Center,” becoming NYC’s second-largest exhibition hall, hosting trade shows, cultural events and large-scale gatherings through the 2000’s.
