Exciting News! The Memorial Park Master Plan and Aquatic Center Project in Santa Ana, California—designed by ELS Architecture and Urban Design in association with SWA—has earned its second recognition this year from an AIA Chapter! Earlier in 2025, AIA Orange County honored the project for its design excellence. Now, we’re proud to share that it has been named an Award Nominee in the AIA East Bay Design Awards Program. Congratulations to our client, the City of Santa Ana, and to staff leaders Suzi Furjanic AIA and Michael Ortiz for their vision and collaboration. Honored to receive recognition from AIA California for our work on the Cañada College Kinesiology and Wellness Center, delivered through Design-Build. Grateful to our partner, Blach Construction Company, for their collaborative efforts in bringing our design to life. Proud of our dedicated ELS Architecture and Urban Design team, including Christopher Jung, Tracy Chan, Antonia Bowman, Susan Vutz, and the late Tiffany Yuan, a valued member whose contributions were invaluable during the conceptual design phase. Tiffany's legacy lives on as a key part of our team. Excited to share that our project, the Santa Ana Memorial Park Master Plan and Aquatic Center, has been recognized by AIA Orange County. The $30MM first phase is currently in progress, paving the way for subsequent phases. This achievement is the result of a successful collaboration between the City of Santa Ana and ELS Architecture and Urban Design + SWA. Watching a #construction project go from conceptual to a tangible, physical building is truly something else. The City of South San Francisco's New Orange Memorial Park Aquatic Center is basically in my own backyard, which makes it so much more special.
