Products that spelled out who they’re for, when they’re used, and why they help got recommended more — and started gaining traction weeks before Black Friday. More context = more visibility = more sales. Prime Day taught us something big… and Black Friday just confirmed it again: AI-ready (SEO + GEO optimized) content outperforms. As AI cuts through the paid traffic clutter, the algorithms look for the best items, and those proved out to be items with AI ready context and content. *** DATA FINDINGS: 👇 ________________ 🌱 FINDING 1: Seed early → more traffic & sales 🌱 The attached graphs show it clearly: test (GEO optimized) items begin separating from the control weeks before any event, then burn hotter during the event. This is because all algorithms are BACKWARD facing – they need time to (1) learn search → item pairs (2) build relevance via clicks (3) expand visibility. —> Take Away: Build out GEO content 3-9 weeks prior to major events ________________ ⚡FINDING 2: More AI dimensions → dramatically higher sales lift⚡ By the numbers: 0–40% dimensions → 71% lift 41–70% → 248% lift 71%+ → 1167% lift What was happening? Over half of consumers used AI to shop Black Friday, an 805% increase YoY. That means more shoppers COMPLETELY BYPASSED PAID TRAFFIC, and AI recommended specifically the products that best matched the consumer query. Looking for gifts for 8-year old boy or something perfect for the british movie watching mom? Well… did you say that in your content? Remember, AI knows EVERYTHING about you and your family — so if you added that context, you won. If not, your competitors did. —> Take Away: The right context dimensions = more ways to win the algorithm. ________________ *** CLASSROOM REMINDER: For those who missed search class: Amazon search results are nearly instantaneous. How?!? That’s b/c of whats called “indexing” – a process within Amazon’s systems to link a [SKU] + [SEARCH TERM] together. That indexing process occurs every ~6 days, and is BACKWARDS facing. Same thing with context dimensions (how customization of search results occur by user). Context dimensions are the (Who, When, Where, Why) of the product – far beyond the WHAT the product is – and the same indexing process occurs for this to happen.
