The South Carolina Department of Administration (Admin) recently received a Certificate of Appreciation and commemorative coin from the South Carolina Department of Veterans' Affairs (SCDVA) for its role in a major statewide veteran homes transition. Division of State Human Resources Director Karen Luchka Wingo and Program Manager Holly Palmer accepted the honor Nov. 20 on behalf of Admin. During the presentation, SCDVA highlighted the collaboration and dedication of Admin’s Shared Services, the BHDD Office of Mental Health and state veteran home partners, whose collective efforts greatly supported the transition of the state’s veteran nursing homes to SCDVA. This cooperative approach strengthened the overall process and ensured that the needs of residents and staff remained at the forefront throughout the transition. The project required close coordination, steady communication and thoughtful planning. Admin’s guidance and teamwork helped ensure the transfer was smooth and effective, reinforcing the state’s commitment to providing the highest level of care to South Carolina’s veterans. This acknowledgement underscores Admin’s ongoing commitment to supporting partner agencies and enhancing vital services for the people of South Carolina. Congratulations to all those involved!
