Nike absolutely ate with this marathon piece in The New York Times 🔥
Oh and then there was more? As is tradition, there was a special insert with The New York Times’ Monday edition right after the #NYCMarathon last Sunday. Which meant .. yet more real estate for Nike’s copywriters :) With the headline “Heart and Soles”. Twenty-four pages in all. The insert featured race highlights, stats, photographs and the names of participants who finished the marathon in under 4:39:04. Comes as no surprise that physical copies sold out in no time at newsstands the next morning, though it is still available on NYT’s online store, apparently. This annual print piece makes for quite the keepsake for the runners who participated. And it makes perfect sense for #Nike to extract maximum mileage out of it. With some help from their friends at Wieden + Kennedy, they left no stone unturned with respect to execution. Running the full course with some really good copy work across media this marathon season.
