🌞Summers in the DMV are know for being hot and humid. However, nature threw us a curveball this week by cranking up the thermostat a few notches. We are looking at heat indices of more than 110 degrees Fahrenheit. Our focus is on keeping our most trusted asset —our fantastic crews — safe. Here is how we are keeping Paxton crews safe and encourage everyone to take the same precautions: -Encouraging more frequent breaks to cool off and stay hydrated -Providing our crews with Gatorade, water, and ICE -QC personnel checking in on the crews bring water, Gatorade, ice, and snacks for the crews to grab while they're out on the job 🌞 If you find yourself in the northeast of the US this week, or if you are moving there or already live there, make sure to stay safe in the heat. Limit your time outside during the hottest part of the day, stay hydrated, and find a space that has AC so you can cool off. Remember to check on kids, older adults, and our pet friends to ensure they are safe in the heat. One last tip: make sure to look before locking your car - cars can heat up quickly, even with a window cracked. Never leave children, pets, or electronics in the car on extremely hot days. While this heat wave is expected to pass by midweek we anticipate another spell or two like this before the season is over, so carry these safety tips with you throughout the summer. Summer is officially here! Schools are letting out, people are changing locales, the weather has warmed up and the moving industry is abuzz. Check out these quick tips we’ve compiled to help you get the most out of your move this summer. • Start Planning Immediately - several weeks notice, at least, is needed to initiate a new move this busy summer • Beat the heat! Keep plenty of cold water on hand to stay hydrated and don’t over exert yourself (if you're using movers, having cold water for them will be greatly appreciated) • Make special arrangements for children and pets on move day to keep them cool and safe • Evaluate the items you are moving.
