Thank you to the UNIVERSAL ORLANDO FOUNDATION INC for helping strengthen our community through meaningful partnership. We are excited to share wonderful news that speaks to the strength of caring neighbors and the power of partnership. Thanks to a $100,000 award from the Universal Orlando Foundation, our team will soon have a new 26-foot box truck to support our retail program. This gift is more than a truck, it is a lifeline for families. Every day, our retail program helps keep lights on, food on the table, and hope within reach. Last year, this work provided vital resources to local households, including clothing, furniture, and essentials all offered with dignity and care. With this new truck, we will be able to: - Pick up more donations - Reach more homes and businesses - Strengthen retail operations - Support more families in our community We are deeply grateful to the Universal Orlando Foundation for believing in our mission and standing with our neighbors. From our heart to yours , thank you!

Preventing hunger and homelessness since 1986. Inspiring and serving humanity through faith and compassion.
About us
The Sharing Center has been preventing homelessness and hunger since 1986. Last year, over 20,000 neighbors received a hand up during the toughest times of their lives. By sharing food, providing emergency financial assistance and essential resources such as bus passes to gain steady employment, brand new shoes for a child in need, or a warm shower and free laundry service - we are helping to create respite and comfort for those on the brink of hunger and homelessness. Our Oasis is the only resource drop-in facility in Seminole County for our homeless neighbors to find community and support during their journey. Through our workforce development program, ProjectRISE, we help adults who are unemployed or underemployed obtain and keep jobs that can lead to self-sufficiency. Four weeks of classroom instruction are dedicated to emotional intelligence, job-finding skills and financial literacy. Roughly 98% of our workforce are volunteers; serving over 42,000 hours to help fulfill our mission in our Distribution Center, Pantry, and Thrift Stores. 90% of every donation or purchase supports our neighbors in need.

On this #GivingTuesday, the Seminole County Fire Department rolled in with an incredible surprise: truckloads of toys, bikes, and scooters for local children this holiday season. Their generosity means more than just gifts under a tree. It means joy for parents who have been worrying, relief for families fighting to stay afloat, and hope for children who deserve to feel seen, celebrated, and cared for this holiday season. Because of partners like our firefighters, more than 100 children in our community will experience the magic of Christmas, something every child should have the chance to feel. Thank you, Seminole County Firefighters! We're so grateful for all you do! #GivingTuesday #TheSharingCenter #SeminoleCounty #CommunitySupport #HolidayToyDrive #FireDepartmentHeroes #SupportLocalFamilies #NonprofitCommunity #SeasonOfGiving #HopeForTheHolidays

There is something sacred about a table. When we sit together, titles fall away, labels disappear, and all that remains is our shared humanity. Today, during Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week, we hosted our Thanksgiving Neighborly Luncheon and were reminded once again that community is not an idea, it is an action. Our unhoused neighbors were not just served, they were seen, greeted by name, and welcomed as part of this community. We are deeply grateful for the partners who helped make today possible: Massey Services, Inc., First African Methodist Episcopal Church, IServe Catering, Sonny's BBQ, Rusty's Bicycle Recycle Inc.,Miles to Go Charity, Sitting Pretty Party Rentals, The Father's Table, The Good Pour, the Kegler Family Fund (Three Sixteen Kegler Fund), and City of Longwood Mayor Brian D. Sackett for joining us in solidarity and care. Every plate served today was a reminder that dignity looks like a hot meal, a safe place to rest for a moment, and the assurance that you are not forgotten. May we continue to build a community where no one has to question whether they belong at the table. #HungerAndHomelessnessAwarenessWeek #TheSharingCenter #CommunityInAction #NeighborsHelpingNeighbors #EndHunger #EndHomelessness #StoriesOfHope
