About us
Tire Rack, family-owned and headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, is America’s largest independent tire tester and consumer-direct source for tires, wheels and performance accessories. Our team of 90-plus test drivers (our sales team) tests tires from every major tire manufacturer on our state-of-the-art, 10-acre test facility. The findings are then posted on our website, www.tirerack.com, where you can make an educated decision on a tire, wheel or performance accessory purchase. We have also collected results from more than 150,000 consumer surveys representing over 2.6 billion miles of real-world tire data, the largest known cache of such information anywhere. In addition various testing and informational videos are available online in our Video Center at www.tirerack.com/videos Since 1979, we have grown from a single-point retail store in Indianapolis to encompass over 1.8 million square feet of space in 10 distribution centers across the country. A diverse and broad in-stock inventory from 17 major tire and 41 wheel brands can be delivered anywhere in the country in two days or less. It is with great pride that we celebrate the induction of Mike Joines, co-founder and longtime CEO of Tire Rack, into the Tire Industry Hall of Fame. From the beginning, Mike’s deep love of cars was more than a personal passion — it was the spark that ignited his mission: to empower drivers with better information, enable confident decisions, and forever change how tires are researched, compared, and purchased online. Under his leadership, Tire Rack launched one of the first true e-commerce platforms for tire retailing — pioneering a new era of customer-centric shopping. Mike believed strongly that the key to success wasn’t simply selling tires, but sharing rich, detailed information: comprehensive product reviews, side-by-side comparisons, performance testing, and expert guidance — all designed to serve the customer first. As the company grew, Mike also understood that the foundation of success wasn’t just great products — it was great people. The ingenuity, enthusiasm, and integrity of the Tire Rack team have been the true driving force behind decades of innovation and customer trust. Congratulations, Mike Joines — a true enthusiast, innovator, and leader whose devotion continues to inspire us all.

The Dan Patrick Show hit the road this week, broadcasting live from Notre Dame Stadium. While in South Bend, Dan and the Danettes stopped by Tire Rack for an unforgettable track experience. After a few hot laps with our lead tire tester, the Danettes got behind the wheel for a little competition of their own — lap times and all. We loved hosting the crew, hitting the track and sharing our passion for all things tires ahead of the big Notre Dame vs. USC game this weekend!

This past weekend, Tire Rack HQ had the honor of serving as the starting point for the 8th Annual Rabbott's Rosie Ride, benefiting A Rosie Place for Children. A Rosie Place for Children is the only specialty not-for-profit hospital in Indiana exclusively providing respite care for medically fragile children. It’s a sanctuary filled with love, joy, and comfort — giving parents the chance to rest while their children enjoy a safe, fun, home-away-from-home. The ride continues to grow each year, and it’s especially close to our hearts knowing that one of our own Tire Rack families has personally experienced the impact of A Rosie Place’s care.
