This week we’re proud to spotlight Andrew Rachel, whose career spans military service, engineering, software development, and nearly two decades of innovation across Rev1 Power Services, Rev1 Energy, and Tracker Technologies. Andrew’s career began right out of high school when he developed software for an insurance company, helping them transition from paper to digital systems. In 1989, he joined the U.S. Navy as a Nuclear Electrician’s Mate, serving 10 consecutive years of sea duty aboard the USS Sunfish (SSN-649) and USS West Virginia (Gold Crew) (SSBN-736). His distinguished service earned him multiple commendations, including two Navy Achievement Medals and a Navy Expeditionary Medal. After the Navy, Andrew brought his technical expertise to DRS Power & Controls Technologies, where he worked on next-generation power conversion equipment for Virginia-class submarines and later managed the High Power Test Facility. He went on to run his own IT business in Texas, building and supporting networks, servers, and infrastructure for local municipalities and organizations. Andrew joined Rev1 Power Services in 2008 as a Turnover Coordinator, where a secondary assignment sparked what would become one of Rev1’s most transformative innovations. While supporting field teams, he began developing tools to streamline commissioning workflows—first through shared spreadsheets, then an Access database, and eventually the early versions of what is now TrackerCheck. Over the years, Andrew continued to advance the platform while supporting client projects across industries. He developed the first web version in 2014, led major data migrations and helped scale the software as Tracker Technologies grew. A major milestone came in 2023 with the formation of a full development team and the launch of TrackerCheck Version 5 in 2024, marking a new era for our project delivery technology. Andrew grew up in a military family, living on Air Force bases around the world, including Kadena AFB in Okinawa, where he regularly saw the SR-71 Blackbird overhead. Service runs deep in his family, with every male relative serving across nearly every branch of the Armed Forces.
