  • Union County leadership is proud to honor Assistant Fire Marshal Chad Baucom with the Lifesaver Award for his heroic actions while off duty. While vacationing with his family at the beach, Baucom heard cries for help from the ocean. Without hesitating, he and a bystander rushed to an unconscious man, brought him to shore and performed CPR. He continued to assist local responders until the man was taken to a hospital.
