We're proud to share our Parks Superintendent Jared Steele was recently honored by the North Carolina Association of County Commissioners at its 118th Annual Conference as part of the statewide Heroic Hands initiative. Jared was recognized for his outstanding service, leadership and collaboration with numerous partner organizations. His work spans from shaping Union County’s Rural Land Use Plan and supporting controlled burns at Cane Creek Park, to volunteering with the Firefighters’ Burned Children’s Fund and advancing cross-departmental emergency response training.
