Today Secretary Rollins hosted and celebrated the 2025 holiday season by the annual lighting of USDA's Christmas tree and honoring the 55-year history of the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree. USDA's magnificent 25-foot tree along with other fresh-cut, fragrant companion trees in the building were donated by Cartner's Blue Ridge Fraser Firs in North Carolina. The holiday reception featured fourth-grade student Grady Armstrong from Nevada who won this year's essay contest. As the 2025 Youth Tree Lighter, Grady will have the honor of lighting the U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree which was harvested by the Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest.
