Kicking off the holiday season with gratitude and a spirit of giving 🎁❤️ Our small but mighty team—alongside partners from Virginia Department of Human Resource Management, Virginia Department of General Services, and Virginia Credit Union—came together for the Capitol Square Food Drive to support Feed More and the results were inspiring. With donations from 17 agencies, we exceeded our goal and filled two VDOT vehicles! In just three hours, we collected 2,230 lbs. of food, providing 1,858 meals — enough to feed one community member three meals a day for 619 days. On November 21 we marked the completion of the I-495 NEXT project, a $660 million effort made possible by a steady and reliable partnership with Transurban and many teams who kept this project moving. These new lanes will untangle one of this regions toughest bottlenecks and strengthen Northern Virginia’s growing express lanes network. The project also brings long-term improvements — new bridges, upgraded stormwater systems, noise wall replacements, and miles of new pedestrian and bicycle connections. It's a clear reminder of what consistent collaboration and problem-solving can deliver for the people who rely on this corridor every day.
