When Hurricane Melissa hit Jamaica, connectivity became a lifeline. On October 28, 2025, the most powerful storm in Jamaica’s history wiped out traditional networks – leaving communities unable to call for help and humanitarian organizations struggling to coordinate relief. That’s when Télécoms Sans Frontières (TSF), the emergency telecoms NGO, mobilized into action, with our IsatPhone satellite technology. Within three days of the Category 5 hurricane making landfall, TSF deployed emergency communications teams, reconnecting coordination centers and enabling aid organizations to deliver relief and reunite families. Today, it continues its support with the longer reconstruction phase.
