The #WakeCounty Board of Commissioners have elected new leadership for the year ahead! Commissioner Don Mial will serve as chair of the board, and Commissioner Safiyah Jackson will serve as vice chair. 👏 Chair Mial was first elected to the board in 2022. He is vice chair of the Public Safety Committee and a member of the Growth, Sustainability and Economic Strength Committee. Vice Chair Jackson was appointed to the board in 2025. She is the current liaison to the Wake County Housing Authority and Passage Home Boards and chairs the Affordable Housing Committee. She holds an extensive professional background and currently serves as the chief strategy officer for the North Carolina Partnership for Children.
