What would you tell your younger self if you had the chance? We asked a few LEE members, and their answers are honest, thoughtful, and real. Believe in yourself. Take your time. Ask questions. Stay curious. Do the thing. Let go of fear. Each answer is personal, but together they carry a powerful message. Leadership doesn’t require perfection. It starts with trusting yourself enough to begin. When have you felt most proud of who you are? For Yachelyn and Nayeli, it is when they are supporting other students who are just beginning their college journey. They know how overwhelming it can feel to enter spaces that are unfamiliar. They remember the questions they once had, and now they are helping others find their way. This is what mentorship can look like. Not a title. Not a job description. Just one person saying to another, "I have been where you are, and I want to help." Mentorship does not always come from someone older or with years of experience. Sometimes it comes from a peer who is walking just a few steps ahead. This is My Journey, My Story. Think your mentor has to be someone way ahead of you? Not true. Some of the best mentors are peers, former colleagues, or people just a few steps ahead. What matters most: shared values, honesty, and mutual respect. Not a fancy title. Swipe through to rethink where mentorship can come from. #MentorshipMonth

Ms. O grew up in a community that helped her understand her power early on. She was surrounded by people who had already claimed theirs. People who believed that a full life meant more than food and shelter. It meant connection. It meant developing your mind, your spirit, and your sense of self. As a kindergartner, she learned about the African diaspora. She stood with her classmates and said, “I Am Somebody,” and believed it. That foundation shaped how she sees the world and how she leads. Now, she works with teachers to pass that same message on to the next generation. To help students see their own worth. To create classrooms where young people feel seen, valued, and ready to lead. This is what leadership looks like, rooted in community and passed forward with care. Strong emotions often hold quiet information. Especially in leadership. The next time you feel frustrated or let down, try this instead of pushing past it. Ask yourself: What value of mine felt overlooked or ignored? Maybe you felt unheard because inclusion matters to you. Maybe you felt stuck because growth is one of your core values. When you name the value, the emotion becomes clearer. And your response becomes more intentional. Try writing these moments down when they happen. You may start to see patterns. And those patterns can become one of your most powerful leadership tools. #LeadWithLEE #leadership

Ever feel yourself react quickly to a post, decision, or conversation? Next time that happens, try pausing and asking yourself: Which of my values is being activated right now? This simple habit helps you move from impulse to intention. It gives your emotions a name and your choices a clearer purpose. When you write these moments down, patterns start to appear. You begin to understand what drives your leadership and what throws it off track. That kind of self-awareness builds trust. And trust builds better leaders. #LeadWithLEE #leadership
