  • Our work: Borderlands is back and we went BIG. Nearly six years in the making, Borderlands 4 exploded into 2025 as the must-play co-op experience. To power the hype, 2K teamed up with Open World to unite the creator community across NAM and ANZ for three massive launch moments and the results were unreal. We kicked things off in May by bringing 27 top creators to Novato and Sydney for exclusive first-hands on gameplay, giving the world its very first Borderlands 4 VoDs. Days later, 75 more creators, from streamers and cosplayers to mixologists, chefs and prop artists, lit up LA at Borderlands Fan Fest, streaming fresh content directly to millions of fans. From there, the energy didn’t stop. Creator pair-ups, livestream crews, reviewers, comedians, artists, and 900+ seeded codes turned September’s launch into a full-blown takeover. Three beats, one massive creator community and a campaign you couldn’t miss.

  • Our work: How Journeys Tapped Karl Jacobs to Lace Up with Gen Z Gamers. When a legacy brand rooted in skate and music culture wanted to break into gaming, they came to Open World with the goal to engage Gen Z in a meaningful, authentic way. We developed a 360 partnership with Karl Jacobs, a Gen Z voice whose self-expression and audience aligned with Journeys’ target consumer. The gamer-focused marketing strategy included retail activations, custom content around key moments like Back-to-School, and a product collaboration with Vans. The result?   • Open World wants to extend a massive congratulations to our partners at 2K and the development team at Gearbox Entertainment on the epic launch of Borderlands 4 this past weekend! Quickly climbing to the top of the Twitch charts, Borderlands 4 held the position as the #1 game on the platform multiple times throughout the launch day peaking at 246,000 Concurrent Viewers and continued to maintain top status in the days since. We’ve proudly supported the launch weekend with over 100 pieces of sponsored content and livestreams which included top variety gamers like LIRIK, Admiralbahroo, Shroud and KingGothalion alongside crossover IRL creators like ZHC and Cilvanis.   • A few weeks ago, we supported 2K and Gearbox Entertainment as they hosted Borderlands Fan Fest, a huge event to celebrate Borderlands 4, giving streaming creators and fans their first-ever hands-on play of the game. We brought 49 streamers, 9 artists, and 18 cosplayers (in costume!) to the event. The excitement all day was amazing! Key highlights included: - First-ever live gameplay streams, with creators' streams also being featured on the official Borderlands and Gearbox Twitch channels - Developer meet-and-greets and behind-the-scenes interviews - A player-centric experience that truly captured the mayhem of Borderlands From the action-packed game play to the unforgettable cosplays, the Fan Fest brought together the Borderlands community like never before, sparking the excitement for what’s coming to Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5 on September 12. Huge thanks to the team at 2K Games for trusting us to bring this to life!
