Thank you, Danielle Charbonneau and the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, for featuring our President and CEO Hala Moddelmog. Read beow to learn how Hala has been reshaping the Arts Center.
In every arena, Hala Moddelmog has been a glass-ceiling breaker. She was the first female president and CEO of the 160-year-old Metro Atlanta Chamber, and before that led Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the world’s largest breast cancer research and advocacy organization. (Moddelmog beat breast cancer before leading the group.) In 2020, she was named CEO of Woodruff Arts Center, when the organization was earning almost no revenue from in-person events. Joining Woodruff during the pandemic gave Moddelmog the opportunity to zoom out and get a bird’s-eye view of its operations. The outcome, she said, was a complete restructuring of all patron-facing services, including the launch of the Goizueta Stage for Youth and Families, a 300-seat theater opening in late January and dedicated to family programming from the Alliance Theatre and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
