On August 25th, OMA President Priya Tandon joined forces with Ontario Energy and Mines | Énergie et des Mines Minister Stephen Lecce to co-host a roundtable discussion on streamlining mining development regulatory frameworks — strengthening the vital Canada-U.S. mining partnership. Held at the Ontario Investment and Trade Centre, the event brought together industry leaders and government officials from both sides of the border, including Brian Somers, President of the Utah Mining Association, Utah State Senator Derrin Owens, and representatives from World Trade Center Utah (WTC Utah), such as Rich Israelsen and Jared Anderson. A special thanks to Suzanne Halet, Director of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, for her expert facilitation, guiding the dialogue through Ontario’s innovative One Project: One Process initiative. Thank you also to Parliamentary Assistants Rudy Cuzzetto and David Smith for joining and supporting the mining sector.
