Enabling the growth of talent is a strategic priority for us — nurturing careers for young people while shaping the future of our industry.
Dual vocational training is just one of the key ways we bring this vision to life across a number of destinations. Nearly 400 apprentices have already had the opportunity to grow with Iberostar Hotels & Resorts, combining learning in the classroom and in our hotels — developing technical expertise, soft skills, and confidence. We launched the first program of its kind in the tourism industry in the Canary Islands just two years ago, and have since expanded it to the Balearic Islands, Andalucía and beyond. Today, apprentices just like Brissia, Manuel and Anthony in this video, are also learning with us in Mexico, Brazil, and Jamaica - and the program is growing.
Our commitment however, extends far beyond dual training. For over a decade, we’ve partnered with the Instituto Imbassaí in Brazil, implementing the Jovem Aprendiz Program in our hotels, which provides both theoretical and practical training in key hospitality areas like cooking, reception, and maintenance. This initiative has supported 820 young people to date, with 265 of them beginning their careers with Iberostar.
This year we also launched the Young Graduate Program—a one-year, immersive training experience for recent graduates passionate about hospitality, leadership, and positive impact. Through hands-on learning across our hotels in Spain, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic, participants gain a 360° understanding of hotel operations, guided by experienced mentors.
Through these programs, our aim is to create training opportunities for over 1,000 young people in a year — empowering future hospitality leaders and showcasing the tourism industry as a sector of meaningful, purpose-driven careers. By doing so, we help close the existing skills gap and ensure the next generation is equipped to drive innovation, sustainability, and excellence in travel and hospitality.
