Becoming a great high-ticket closer takes time and frequency (literally thousands of calls). Jumping straight into a closer role with little to no experience is like trying to join the executive team straight from the mailroom—it doesn’t work. AND, nobody is going to give you that opportunity anyway. Why would they throw someone on the phone to close a deal who doesn't know what they're doing? It doesn't make any sense. If you’re just starting out, focus on finding an entry-level role as a setter/cold caller (NOT a DM setter) that offers growth opportunities. There are tons of roles out there which give you a solid salary, commissions, and the skills to work your way up: ✅ Setting and qualifying leads ✅ Fact finding and product selection ✅ Building confidence It’s a journey, not a shortcut. I’ve helped 500+ founders & business leaders hire freelancers over the last year. The best of them are able to get the output of a FT employee at a fraction of the cost through hiring freelancers. Here’s how they make the most out of their freelance engagements: 1. Kill recurring meetings Freelancers don’t get paid to sit in Zooms. They block time to produce. Every sync call eats into your output. Use async (Slack + Loom) to communicate clearly, and let them cook. 2. Give fast, clear feedback Freelancers often have one window each day or week to work on your brand. Miss your feedback window? You're bumped to the next one. Use deadlines, be blunt, and record Looms. Turnarounds will 2x. 3. Don't squeeze freelancers on pricing If you can’t afford the rate, either: ✅ Reduce scope ✅ Find someone cheaper But don’t try to haggle down hours or say “this shouldn’t take that long.” It kills motivation and poisons the working relationship. 4. Pay on time Nothing is more stressful for freelancers than waiting to be paid. As soon as they send an invoice, pay it. Don’t wait for the due date, don’t wait for them to remind you. There’s a time and place to push payments out if you're cash-constrained (with large suppliers or vendors), but don’t do it with your freelancers. By paying them on time, you generate trust and goodwill that’ll be returned to you in loyalty and great work. 5. Fire quickly If a freelancer isn’t going to work out, you’ll probably get an idea pretty quickly. Give them direct feedback once, and if it’s not quickly implemented, move on from them. The beauty of freelance relationships is that there’s literally zero commitment on either side, so if it’s not the best fit for you and you know that, don’t hesitate to break off the relationship and move on. Don’t get stuck with someone that’s not a good fit.

Just a dude on stage doing silly moves, and it exploded. No strategy. Just energy. Then came the creators. The ones who made content with intention. They built followings. Focused on niches. They knew how they wanted to be perceived and shaped their videos around that. This is when “YouTuber” became a career. Next came the service businesses. B2B coaches. Agencies. SaaS. They started posting educational long-form content. Tutorials. Frameworks. Behind-the-scenes strategy. And they proved that video doesn’t just entertain, it converts. And now? Now we’re entering the next era. Big brands. Physical products. Wellness, fitness, skincare, supplements, apparel. Most of them still rely on affiliates or influencer marketing to tell their story. Save your limited bandwidth for activities that actually generate client conversations.
