WELLFATE Cruise Wrap-Up From June 20 to July 8, the WELLFATE research team and REV Ocean completed an intensive series of ROV dives on the Norwegian Continental Shelf—investigating methane seeps, seafloor geology, and the ecosystems they support. Together we achieved an incredible sampling effort: - 42 ROV dives - 28 push cores - 19 blade cores - 34 gas samples - 63 flux measurements - 16 rock collections - 26 carbonate crusts - 13 shovel scoops Each sample brings us closer to understanding how methane moves through the seabed, how carbonate crusts form, and how life evolves in these extreme deep-sea environments. The WELLFATE cruise may be ending, but the discoveries are just beginning.
