Using the right paint saved this manufacturer hours of work – every single day. I was at a potential customer’s paint shop. They were applying two coats to reach 200 microns dry film thickness. "That’s just how we do it," they said. Nobody questioned it. But then we looked at the numbers. The paint they were using had less than 50% solid content. That meant applying 400 microns wet, waiting for flash-off, and then painting the object again. Twice the time. Twice the effort. Twice the material. So, we made one change. We introduced our product TEKNODUR COMBI 3560 - a high-solid paint with 92% solid content. Higher volume solid paints have a greater concentration of solid particles. They contain less solvent and more pigment and binder (= more paint). More paint stays on the object, less solvent evaporates. It made a huge difference: • One coat at 215 microns wet instead of two layers. • Less material used. • More throughput on the production line. The painters were surprised. The process they had always followed was suddenly twice as fast. Instead of just sticking with what they knew, this manufacturer saw the time and material savings and switched to our solution.
