In 2024, we partnered with Infinigen Renewables to serve as the critical integrator and controls provider for their utility-scale Solar + Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico. This project is a vital piece of the island’s urgent push for grid modernization and resilience, and is part of a growing pipeline of critical infrastructure projects in development across the region. Puerto Rico’s grid experiences frequent extreme weather events and has an isolated electrical system which subjects it to some of the world’s most demanding operational requirements. Deploying our advanced, hardware-agnostic HybridOS® Energy Management System (EMS) ensures the project delivers the high-speed response, reliability, and full-stack integration needed to meet strict Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority (PREPA) interconnection and operational mandates. Historically, during extreme weather events the Yabucoa region has been among the first to lose power and the last to have service restored.
