I had the opportunity to preview Oracle's new AI agents for their Fusion Cloud HCM suite and chat with Chris Leone, EVP of Applications Development at Oracle. (See my Forbes contribution, link in comments) These AI agents aim to automate routine tasks and provide personalized support across various HR functions – a function in much need of automation. Oracle seems to be focusing on user-friendly interfaces that could allow LOBs to configure and test AI agents with minimal IT involvement in many cases. It's interesting to see how these AI agents might integrate HR functions with other business areas like supply chain management. The potential for cross-functional optimization appears promising. I look forward to watching how these AI agents may impact workplace dynamics and HR processes as they are implemented.

What's the real potential for AI in HCM (beyond just chatbots)... Let's look at why ChatGPT works so well to help answer the question. Marc Benioff, CEO of Salesforce, addressed this, and it really stuck with me: “In Consumer AI (ChatGPT), you’ve already got the data together. For Enterprise AI, you have to put your own data together. And you have to understand your lineage. They have to have a master data management; you have to have all of the connectivity and the homogenization of your data. Ultimately, the data has to be in a harmony.” Here is a real life example from an ecosystem mapping we did for a client. Without a data strategy and good governance, meaningful AI enablement is impossible.

I'm sharing this link so that those of you who have implemented Workday are aware of a recent data breach. Workday disclosed a data breach after attackers gained access to a third-party CRM system through a social engineering attack. The company stressed that no customer tenants (i.e. a company's sensitive data, such as employee records, payroll information, HR files, financials, stored on the Workday system) or internal data were impacted, with exposed information limited to business contact details like names, emails, and phone numbers. Workday has since cut off access, implemented additional safeguards, and reminded users that it will never request credentials over phone or text. The incident highlights growing risks tied to phishing and social engineering campaigns targeting enterprise platforms. #HR #HumanResources #DataBreach #CyberSecurity #Workday #HRTech
