“I had the opportunity to serve with Jennifer in the North Dakota Student Association. She preceded me as a Student Affairs Council Representative, and served as the President of the organization during my term. While leading the North Dakota Student Association (NDSA) she masterfully navigated a complex and toxic political climate surrounding state and higher ed politics. During this controversial time, Jennifer lead a team who was dedicated to the work of improving the lives of the 48,000 public higher ed students within the state of North Dakota. Her confidence and unifying message made it clear to everyone in the organization, from the vice president to the newest campus representative, that the work of our organization was vital in the shaping and implementation of higher education policy in our state. She was inspirational, motivational, and accountable to the members of the student association, and that propelled her to succeed in establish positive relationships with the State Board of Higher Education and University/College Presidents. Jennifer's ability to motivate has yet to be surpassed by any other student leader I have encountered. As a personal mentor of mine, she has been a resource for me when I struggle to place large issues and complicated problems into perspective. When I arrived at UND, Jennifer was the first person I met within student government, and she actively worked to ensure that I was included and provided opportunities to grow. To this day, Jennifer is a mission-driven, vision-oriented leader, and it is an honor to call her a colleague, mentor, and friend. --Collin Hanson NDSA-NDUS Student Affairs Council Representative (2014-2015) NDSA Chief of Staff (2016)”

Lean In is a community inspired by the book of the same title written by Sheryl Sandberg. Our aim is to empower women and girls to actualize their ambitions.
I was a Co-Leader of the SIFS Circle, a monthly gathering of professional women looking to better understand the intersection of work and life. I was also involved with our Social Media Workgroup and co-led the Circle Leader Training Workgroup. I played a key role in developing a Start Up Guide for new Circle Leaders. -

Education
I was a volunteer with Global Friends Coalition, an organization aimed at serving the New American community in Grand Forks, ND. As a tutor/mentor, I sat with New American students during classes or study periods and helped them with science, reading, and math. I also participated in a field trip to a corn maze and pumpkin patch. It was a rewarding experience and a fantastic opportunity to become involved in the community.

I also served as the Project Coordinator for UND's Honors Program volunteers working with Global Friends. In partnership with another student, I led beginning and end of the semester meetings and reflections, verified hours volunteered, and reported those hours to the Honors Program for scholarship purposes.
