H2M architects + engineers
H2M Senior Project Interior Designer Megan Ballato, CID, NCIDQ, NYSCEO, and Senior Project Architect Christiana Suppa , R.A., NCIDQ, recently published an article in New England Real Estate Journal and how to use interior design to make a return to the office not only easier for employees, but desirable. Megan and Christiana’s article highlights how companies can work with interior designers to create calming office environments that promote mental and physical well-being among staff. These interior design strategies focus on creating adaptable and inclusive environments that prioritize user choice, including flexible workstations and a variety of breakout areas for collaboration or quiet work. Natural elements like plants with diverse colors and textures are also integrated to support well-being, while the overall design encourages personalized experiences and multiple iterations based on user needs. Hot take: Involving your architect early is the surest way to lock in long-term value—from first design conversations through construction. At Bisnow’s Boston Multifamily Summit, our Development Design Studio Lead, Aksel Solberg, AIA, NCARB, shared how value grows when design and operations plan together: clear programming, the right construction assemblies, and a tech stack that fits the actual ops model, whether low touch or high touch. “Maximizing value in multifamily is a team effort,” Aksel said. “Bring your architect in early so that value is built in, not bolted on.” Ed Damphousse, our Sr. Client Partnerships Lead, felt the momentum in the room: 350+ attendees, high energy, and real deals in motion at Artists For Humanity. What operational shift has made the biggest difference in retention or revenue for your communities this year? #Bisnow #BostonCRE #Multifamily

L+M Development Partners LLC
L+M’s Senior Director of Building Envelope Sara Tsiropinas, RA LEED AP and Assistant Project Manager Lisa White recently joined NYC Charter School for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction Industries’ (AECI) annual career day event to mentor the next generation of industry professionals. The South Bronx high school’s sophomore, junior, and senior students attended the event and spoke with Sara and Lisa as well as other participating organizations, including the nonprofit Building Skills New York, the New York City Department of Buildings, and the NYPD. During the event, Sara and Lisa advised the students about working in the construction, engineering and architecture sectors, exposing them to various kinds of roles they can pursue in their careers. They explained to students why they chose their careers, good courses they should focus on while in high school, challenges that they had to face in the industry, college degrees they obtained, the importance of networking, and understanding what qualifications employers are looking for. L+M has hosted construction site tours with AECI students at the Ray Harlem and Bronx Point projects previously, and more site visits and mentorship opportunities are anticipated in the future. #BeyondHousing #Construction #Architecture #Community #Engineering #NextGeneration #HighSchoolCareerFair #AECI #LMDevelopmentPartners
