As an organization we are continually asked the question, “why chess?” The answer is very simple: by teaching students the game of chess they are learning the high level critical-thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills as well as gaining self confidence essential for success in school and in life. Chess is so much more than just a game. Through learning chess children learn how to survey their surroundings and think before they act. It teaches them the importance of patience and impulse control
