As the federal government shutdown continues, many in the industry are asking what this means for HUD and GSE lending and how might it ripple through the broader capital markets?   Here’s what we’re seeing: 🔵 HUD Operations FHA multifamily and healthcare programs remain open, though new applications may experience processing delays as non-essential staff are furloughed. Veterans and their families have a new option for housing in Quartz Hill, California with the grand opening of Danny’s Home for Heroes. The Western Alliance Bank Affordable Housing Investments Group invested $20.9 million in tax-exempt and taxable construction-to-permanent bonds to finance the new construction in collaboration with R4 Capital Funding. The three-story residential building provides 35 furnished one-bedroom units and is restricted to residents earning 30%-50% of the Area Median Income (AMI). Amenities include job training programs and counseling services to help veterans transition into civilian life.
