This surge is attributed to the proven effectiveness of Israeli defense systems in active conflict zones, prompting countries like Slovakia to invest in systems such as IAI’s Barak MX Integrated Air Defense System. To meet escalating demand, Israeli defense firms are operating at full capacity, implementing additional shifts, and recruiting extensively. Announcing Israel Quantum Fellows. Today we announce the Israel Quantum Fellows program, which brings together VP-level executives from the private sector (largest banks, telecom, healthcare, finance and infrastructure providers) alongside decision makers from Israel's defense industry who use or expect to use quantum technology in the coming years. We hosted the very first event at Aleph (teaser video below) with incredible speakers and 50+ senior executives who shape the Israeli economy. Israel has no shortage of groundbreaking defense technologies, but translating innovation into 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥-𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 requires more than just great engineering. It takes the right mix of strategic partnerships, operational validation, and a deep understanding of evolving defense needs. That’s why I was honored to be invited by Startup Nation Central to speak at their 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐥𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐛𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫, alongside Ilana Sherrington and Avi Hasson, and shared my perspective on how Israeli defense startups can 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐝𝐨𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. For me, this isn’t just a professional conversation—it’s personal. On 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟕𝐭𝐡, like so many others, I found myself facing a stark reality: the systems we rely on to protect us must constantly evolve. That day reinforced what I had long believed—𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐢𝐬𝐧’𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞; 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲. It’s what ultimately led me to co-found Protego Ventures, a fund dedicated to backing the next generation of defense technology. I added the new Israeli Proptech startup landscape by TLV Partners to my 2025 collection on VC Cafe. There are over 200+ Israeli startups operating in the proptech sector (including a number of unicorns). The new crop of AI-first startups are penetrating every layer of the tech stack - from elevating the tenant experience and enabling predictive maintenance, to construction site monitoring and delivering AI-driven infrastructure insights.
