Big Happy is looking for a high energy Director of Sales to drive new shopper marketing related business and awareness of our proprietary ad platform to the world’s most cutting-edge suppliers and media agencies in the Bentonville territory. Reporting directly to the Head of the Midwest/West, this salesperson will be responsible for building out the Bentonville territory for Big Happy. An extensive list of contacts and the ability to develop new client relationships is paramount to being successful in this role.
While our experienced team has resources to help you win, the applicant must be a self-starter that can come up with solutions proactively and independently. We are a team that thrives on individual leadership, creative thinking and personal accountability.
Key Responsibilities
Hunter mentality laser focused on new business and maintaining/growing current business.
Strong understanding of Shopper Marketing and the evolving shopper landscape
Position Big Happy as a must have partner in Bentonville
Act as an internal Bentonville expert collaborating with Client Services and Creative to ensure all programs are optimized for retailer priorities
Have strong relationship with suppliers and understand the Walmart ecosystem
Develop shopper marketing playbook based on Big Happy’s strengths and capabilities
Ability to build a rich pipeline of new business by creating a well-researched prospect list and a disciplined outreach strategy.
Solution-based selling focus by seeking to understand clients needs and brand challenges in order to build effective mobile media plans.
Innate ability to want to win through hard work and perseverance.
Ability to convey back challenges in the market to leadership and product marketing teams.
Meets all deadlines for project requests and special tasks as outlined by sales leadership and executives.
Willingness to take advice and learn from sales and executive leadership.
Highly motivated team player with the ability to learn and grow with peers in an extremely fast paced environment.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Bachelor’s degree in Advertising, Marketing, Business or similar relevant field
7+ years experience selling digital media to agencies and brands with proven track record of success
Deep relationships at major agencies and direct clients in the Bentonville area
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels and across various mediums
Deep understanding of the media ecosystem - specifically agency hold companies, programmatic, rich media providers, attribution partners, 3P data providers and general consumer trends across the industry
Strong sense of accountability with the ability to maintain a clean and accurate pipeline/forecast
Technical skills: Boostr, Google product suite, Microsoft product suite, Sellercrowd, Clearslide, ZOOM, Slack among other general digital produ
