Responsibilities Include:

Broker & Agent Collaboration

• Build and maintain strong relationships with wholesale brokers and retail agents.
• Serve as a consultative partner, supporting placement of excess liability coverage.

Underwriting & Risk Evaluation

• Evaluate and analyze risks for acceptability based on underwriting guidelines and individual risk characteristics.
• Manage a profitable book of excess liability business, including new submissions, renewals, and endorsements.
• Exercise sound judgment in pricing, coverage terms, deductibles, and forms.

Operational Execution

• Deliver timely quotes and binders in line with service level commitments.
• Operate within defined authority while escalating complex risks to senior underwriting leadership when appropriate.
• Work independently with limited oversight, demonstrating accountability and initiative.

Leadership & Mentorship

• Mentor and develop junior underwriters, fostering a collaborative and innovative underwriting culture.
• Contribute to workflow improvements and underwriting best practices.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years of insurance underwriting experience in wholesale environments.
• Strong background in General Liability and Excess Liability underwriting.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; industry designations (CPCU, RPLU, AU, etc.) a plus.
• Proven ability to build WHOLESALE broker relationships and strategically grow a book of business.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
